Job Announcement: Program Assistant – Youth Leadership Initiative
Hoosiers Concerned About Gun Violence (HCGV) is seeking a Program Assistant to support its Youth Leadership Initiative from June through December 2026.
Since 2024, HCGV has conducted educational programming focused on developing youth leadership skills and strategies for preventing gun violence. In 2026, HCGV will host two youth engagement events designed to bring young people together with HCGV members to explore legislative and community-based approaches to gun violence prevention.
The Program Assistant will work closely with HCGV leadership to support outreach, event coordination, logistics, and post-event follow-up. This position may also be structured as a formal internship opportunity.
Position Details
- Duration: June – December 2026
- Hours: Average 10 hours per week
- Compensation: $15/hour
- Location: Primarily remote, with in-person attendance required for the two events
Responsibilities
The Program Assistant will help:
- Create outreach flyers and promotional materials
- Manage youth applications and registration tracking
- Assist with event preparation and logistics
- Support technology and on-site coordination during events
- Coordinate lunches and event materials
- Assist with evaluations, reports, and post-event wrap-up activities
