Job Announcement: Program Manager – Youth Leadership in Gun Violence Prevention

Hoosiers Concerned About Gun Violence (HCGV) is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Program Manager for the Youth Leadership in Gun Violence Prevention program. This is a 12-month, contractual position requiring 20 hours per week, starting as early as January 2025 and concluding on December 31, 2025.

Program Overview

The Youth Leadership in Gun Violence Prevention program will host two summer workshops, each lasting two weeks:

  • High School Students Workshop
  • College Students Workshop

The workshops will focus on building leadership and advocacy skills for gun violence prevention. Preparatory months will involve planning, promotion, participant recruitment, and coordination with presenters and volunteers. Post-workshop, participants will engage in follow-up activities through the end of 2025.

Position Details

The Program Manager will report to an HCGV board member. While much of the work can be completed remotely, certain activities—such as the workshops—will require in-person attendance at designated program sites.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and attributes:

  • Proficiency in information technology and social media
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Passion for working with youth and volunteers from diverse backgrounds
  • A demonstrated commitment to gun violence prevention and history of supporting violence reduction efforts

Compensation

  • $40.00 per hour
  • This is a contractual position; benefits are not included.
